Outdoor Bar Stools Withstanding the Elements

September 2nd, 2010 by barset No comments »

So you have a backyard you simply adore. The trees are gorgeous, the sun is always shining, you have that built-in barbecue and a fantastic pool. You also have that beautiful bar you installed. Now all you need is the special set of outdoor bar stools that will bring your backyard to life with entertainment. Outdoor stools are built specifically to handle weather like rain, snow, and excessive heat. Finding the right barstool may depend on what type of terrain you live in. If you deal more with rain and snow, you might lean more towards a metallic outdoor stool. If you live in dry, hot weather you might consider a wooden bar stool with a nice finish to protect it.

Outdoor patio bar stools are not just for big lavish backyards with built-in barbeque’s and pools. They are also great for apartments, condos, and homes with balconies. Having a barstool on your balcony gives you the ability to see over the rail and thus increase your view. Having barstools that are outside is a great way for you and your company to enjoy the outdoors in style and comfort.

Outdoor bar stools are easy to get on and off of, and can be moved easily giving you and your guests the ability to move around with little to no effort and to sit wherever they choose without straining themselves. Even if you already have a table with chairs, outdoor stools are a great way to add some extra seating and are great for large parties where people won’t be sitting for long periods of time and the flow of traffic is constant. Outdoor stools are also great for gardens, pools, and ponds. These stools are not just for the backyard either, as many people place them on their front porch or stoop as well.

When choosing your outdoor bar stools, just remember to take weather and style into consideration. If your bar stool is complementary to your home and is able to withstand the elements of your regional climate, then you have truly made the right choice and will enjoy your bar stools for many years to come.

Bar Stool Guide

August 30th, 2010 by barset No comments »

If you’re looking to purchase a bar stool or pub table for your home, there are a few things it’s helpful to know. This Bar Stool Guide was created to help you choose the best bar stool and pub table.

Bar Height or Counter Height? Bar stools and tables are generally available in one of two heights: bar height and counter height. It’s important that your stool is the proper hight for your table, and vice versa.

Counter Height is used to describe stools which measure 24″ to 26″ in height, and tables which measure 36″in height.

Bar Height is used to describe stools which measure 30″ in height, and tables which measure 40″ to 42″ in height.
There are some stools which are available in several other heights, usually described as Tall or Custom Height stools. The general rule of thumb is that the stool height should be 10″ to 12″ less than the height of the table you intend to use with it. So if you have a 36″ tall stool, you will require a table which measures 46″-48″ high.

Stool Space When purchasing stools for a bar, it’s a good idea to leave at least 5″-6″ between stools, to ensure that there’s enough space for people to sit. Stools which swivel or which feature arms will naturally require more space, and some stools are wider than others, so be certain to take the dimensions of each stool, and the table or bar, into account when planning your purchase.

Stool Features The selection of stools is quite extensive, so there are many attributes to consider when selecting the right stool for you. Common stool qualities include:

Stationary or Swivel
Memory Return
Upholstered Seats
Wood or Metal frames
Backed or Backless Seats
We carry a vast number of stools with styles, materials, finishes and coverings. If you have a specific look or features you desire for your stools, there’s sure to be a stool that meets your criteria.

Caring for your stools To get the most out of your stools and ensure them a long and useful life, consider the following tips:

Cleaning Fabric seats – We recommend testing any cleaning solution you’d like to use on a small test area of fabric, out of sight if possible, to make sure the fabric won’t fade, bleed, or become discolored. Applying stain guard is never a bad idea, as most bar stools will be used where liquids are present!

Cleaning Leather Seats – Leather is naturally a bit waterproof, but any spills should be wiped up quickly to prevent staining. Using any sort of chemical cleaner (other than those intended specifically for leather care) may damage or discolor leather; a mild soap and warm water is ideal. As with fabric, if you intend to use cleaning chemicals, test a small area first.

Cleaning Wood – Using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners is not recommended for wood finishes. Instead, warm water and mild soap, or cleaning solutions intended specifically for wood furniture finishes, should be used.

Outdoor Use – Due to humidity and the elements, seats with wood, fabric or leather components are not intended for use outdoors, unless specified in the stool’s description (such as the stools in our Outdoor Bar Stools collection). It’s generally a good idea to keep leather and fabric out of sunlight, to prevent fading.

Safety – Stools are wonderful to sit in, but you should never stand on them. This may be too much weight for the stool, and it’s easy to lose your balance on a stool!

C# Progress Bar Tutorial

August 24th, 2010 by barset No comments »

Ok so as I explained above we are going to be writing a program in Visual C# that allows a progress bar to advance by button click or by a timer that we have set up.

1.First thing we want to do is open up our Visual Studio or C# Express Edition which you can download from Microsoft’s website. Please note that Dreamspark users are allowed to download a free copy of Visual Studio from their campuses online store. Dream Spark is for Students currently enrolled in some kind of education

2.Second your going to want to create a new project and name it whatever you see fit I named mine C Sharp tutorial 1

3.Make a button by opening the tool box which should be located on the left side of the Visual Studio/C# Express Edition Interface and double click on it. Next scroll down and find the progress bar in the tool box and double click it.

4.Set it up the way you like the form to look like you want it to. What i usually do is decrease the Height and increase the width.

5.Double click the button and under the button1_click type

progressbar1.Minimum = 0;

progressbar1.Maximum = 100;

progressbar1.Step = 1;

progressbar1.PerformStep();

Now basically – progressbar1.Minimum is the least amount that the progress bar can reach and the progressbar1.Maximum is the highest amount that the progress bar can get to.

progressbar1.Step is basically saying that every time you click the button its going to perform a step so you would have to click the button 100 times.

6.Next go back to the Form.cs [Design] and go to the tool box and scroll down to the timer and double click it. Now if you go over to the Properties Panel it shows interval. Basically what an interval is, is that every tick of the timer its going to advance by whatever we set it to. Enabled is basically telling you that the timer is going to start off until you enable it.

7. Next double click the button and delete the code that you just wrote and type

timer1.Enabled = true;

basically this is saying to start the timer when the button is clicked

8. Go back to the Form.cs[Design] and double click on the timer button which should be located at the bottom of the Interface. Now the code your about to see is going to look extremely familiar. You are going to want to type

progressbar1.Minimum = 0;

progressbar1.Maximum = 100;

progressbar1.Step = 1;

progressbar1.PerformStep();

And hit debug now you’ll see that it advances as soon as you hit the button. Now if you want to make it go by faster you can change the progressbar1.Step = 1; to progressbar1.Step = (Whatever Number you like);

Kitchen Table Set – Decorating To Fill That Void Space

August 23rd, 2010 by barset No comments »

You are looking for a kitchen table set but you don’t know what your choices are out there. And I do understand that it can get very confusing sometime when you see all those different choices such as the counter height tables, bar tables, bar units, dinettes, and just this list is overwhelming to comprehend. But rest assured, this article should simplify all that for you as I will try to show you that there are only 3 main types of a kitchen table set that will most likely meet your needs in filling that void in your home.

Bar Table Set#1 The Bar Table and Two Bar Stool 3 Piece SetBar table sets is one of the more popular groups of kitchen furniture. They offer an easy transfer from counter space right to the bar table for a casual dining experience where most people place it off to the side of the kitchen. It is perfect for the family that dines in two’s when people come in and out for a quick snack or bite to eat. Of course extra stools can be added if you need it as you can place the stools next to your counter as an added seating availability, but can also be moved towards the table for a nice cozy gathering over some wine and cheese.

Counter Height Table Set#2 The Counter Height Dining Set – If you have limited counter space and have a kitchen nook area to fill for dining needs, a counter height dining set is another main category of kitchen furniture that is perfect for most settings and occasions. Snacking to breakfast to full meals can be served on these counter height pieces and it provides a more solid structure for serving meals in your kitchen. The height of the pieces is really what defines a new phase of dining at the counter height. It gives you that nice casual feeling of dining at the bar, but now you can dine together across from each other using a nicely selected counter height dining set.

Dinette Set#3 The Dinette Sets – for smaller kitchens and homes that need a casual family dining setting, a dinette set is perfect for the kitchen furniture furnishing. Because of it’s size, the dinette set can act as a breakfast area and since they are squarely shaped, they offer a round table feel but without the space taken away from your kitchen dining area.

These sum all the main pieces of the kitchen dining experience into three main groups that should be the focal point of your decor. Each group is selected to meet general needs of dining in the kitchen with different styles, functions, and sizes. Ultimately, you should think about the space you have on where you will be placing your kitchen table set and how it will function to serve your dining needs and decorate the beauty of your home decor at the same time.
